We started Christmas at Grammy and Pap's house. We always have such a good time and with what seems like a new baby joining us every year it is getting more and more fun! And we had to move to the big living room this year as the front room was too full of presents that only 2 people could fit in there.
Lainey held to our tradition by giving the boys their Reindeer Oats again this year. I personally love this as it keeps the kids in a sort of partnership and the mess is left at Aunt Car's until it makes its way to our driveway! Adam loves this every year and Jace seemed to like it just as much.
Adam left his cookies for Santa. He was thoroughly tired by the time we did this and he insisted Santa only get one cookie. We left two. And as you can see in the bottom photo, he ate 1 1/2. Adam was thrilled, as was Daddy!
When we heard the pitter patter of little feet it was about 2 til 7. We slept in?! Adam came down to our room and got into bed with us, we thought he was going to fall asleep. Dad asked him what he wanted to do and he said he wanted to lay with Mom for awhile. It wasn't until we actually asked if Santa had come that he remembered it was Christmas morning. He had walked right by the tree and all of the presents! The photo above was when he got his first look at the goodies, but that was only after he had checked that the reindeer oats were gone and the cookies had been eaten.
Jace really did a great job opening presents. He did however want to play with whatever he had just unwrapped or whatever it was that Adam had unwrapped and thrown behind him. We let them play, we still have several things in boxes.
We had a wonderful holiday season this year as we were all together, healthy and happy. Next year will be much of the same although there will be two more of us and we are hoping to have a new special place to call home.
