As we celebrated Jace's 1st birthday we remembered the day he was born. How excited we were to meet this new life, to see who he looked like, and eager to get him home and start our life with him. We never expected life to become so much more wonderful than it was before. Jace has added quite a bit to our household. He is extremely silly, ALWAYS happy, and ALWAYS smiling. Even when he has fallen and gotten hurt, he is smiling while he is crying.
Jace has grown quite a bit this past year. While he started off rather average in the height and weight areas, he is now above in both: 30.5 in (76%) and 24.6 lb (91%). While he will probably not be the 6'5" they are estimating brother to top out at, he will be tall in his own right at 6'2" or 6'3". Jace loves to eat. This child will eat and eat until you take it away and then he will complain that he is still hungry. He is not at all picky, but he does love cheese, oranges, sausage.
Jacer has 8 teeth, 3 of them being molars with what seems to be all of the rest of them coming in right now all at the same time. The poor kid is so miserable, but that mostly means he wants to be held and cuddle so I really do not mind.
He has had 4 haircuts with the last one being from a real stylist. And although Mama does just fine with the clippers for Dad and Adam, we will continue to take Jace to the salon because we are keeping his hair longer!
Jacer LOVES accessories. He will put on any hat laying around, and I am not quite sure where he learned to wear them backwards, but he prefers that style to any other. He loves necklaces and bracelets, scarves and shoes. He does wear Dad and Mom's shoes, but he walks around with them on his hands, not his feet.
Jace loves balls and books the most out of all the toys he has. And as much as Adam LOVES to play with animals, Jace LOVES to play with Adam! He will follow the poor guy around like a little puppy and while most of the time Biggs will play with him, other times he would just like to sit and read a book without "that baby" ripping the books out of his hands. In these cases Jacer gets to play Hell's Kitchen and that usually brings Adam around as they both love to play Hell's Kitchen.
Jacer started walking at about 11 months. He literally just stood up and went. And since that fateful day, this house has been a disaster area. Would I change it for the world? Not in any way, shape, or form. Remember, I have a thing with germs and since Jace is walking, that means his hands are not on the floor as often as they were! Yay!
There are not enough words to describe how I feel about this little boy. The only thing I can do is thank God everyday for giving me such an amazing gift. I wish that everyone could feel this love as it is one of the most tremendous feelings in the universe!
