What an Easter this was for the Haselbys. We had a great lunch, great weather, and great company. We had lunch down here at our house. Since we have started our family and plan to expand we have decided that it is time to start our own family traditions. We will be doing this more and more as we want to be able to enjoy our holidays again and not be stretched so thin. With this idea in mind we would like to extend an open invitation to anyone and everyone that would like to join us for any and all holiday dinners/parties. Family and friends alike, at our house it is "The More The Merrier"!
So, at this lovely Easter dinner we had Grammy, Paps, the Heplers, and Uncle T and Rach. We were all able to eat and relax as we had amazing weather! The kids played with the 10 different kinds of bubbles we have and took the old John Deere for a spin.
The Easter Bunny was super generous to Biggs this year. He got several books (regular and coloring), a couple of movies, bubbles, some little animals (anything little or animal he loves, takes after his cousin Kiersten), and a pair of red and white Adidas tennis shoes that look just like the ones his Uncle Adam used to wear. But amongst all of the goodies Adam went for the suckers, and he decided he needed to try every flavor at 7:30 in the morning. So once he figured out how to get the wrapper off, it was all over and as you will see in the pictures below he gave it a good go.
Thanks to all of you extraordinary people that thought of Adam this Easter. He got quite a bit from the Easter Bunny's brothers... books from Grammy and Paps, Kung Fu Panda from the Heplers, a sweet blue pick-up truck from Pa and Mimi, some great puzzles from "The Greats", and a new pair of shades from the "Hasel-Bunnies" just to name a few! And oh by the way, to all of you who loaded those baskets with all sorts of chocolate eggs and marshmallow bunnies...beware!
Saturday night we read the story of Peter Cottontail and put out our little sign so that the Easter Bunny wouldn't forget to stop at our house. Bud was really into where to put the sign and his empty basket.
First thing Sunday morning we found out what goodies the Big "EB" left. Biggs was a little intimidated at first, but that did not last long.
"Ma, this egg looks like a ball... or does this ball look like an egg?" Didn't really seem to matter if they were eggs or balls, they had the jingle, and Bigg Time already knows about the jingle!
Digging for the first sucker... Let's count shall we?
This would be 1. He still looks a little sleepy, but is ready for that first lick!
Sucker # 2.
3. He actually ate this entire one, he was really into the movie case so I don't think he realized that he was eating the whole thing and not just tasting.
# 4 and counting.
Numero Cinco was a good one. I know because I got to finish this one. Not by choice, it was rammed into my mouth! Mmmm, pina colada!
6 and 7 ran together. He was eating six and opening 7. I think Norie finished 6 for him. Not a fun game for Mom.
Adam was quite into the balls or eggs filled with change...
He wanted his piggy to put it all in. It was so cute, I really do hope he is a saver and not a spender like Ma.
Easter basket number 20. Thank you Grammy, there wasn't much candy in this one. Just some books and some cold hard cash! We tried to make Biggs realize how exciting it is to put cash money in the pig, he didn't buy it!
Bud was perfectly content to have Lainey Bugs chauffeur him around the yard. She did such a good job of driving once she got the hang of it. And once we hit the sidewalk, that old JD went every bit the 2 mph the box claimed it did!
Hoping that the next holiday brings all of these amazing people to our house again as well as many more amazing people.
