A Boy's World
The world was made for little boys
With infinite wonders and myriad joys
As he explores the source of brooks
Or recorded lore in interesting books.
As he trails fierce bears imaginary
Or listens quietly for the wild canary,
There are trees to climb - birds to hear,
Animals to greet with love - not fear.
He tramps the woods, fields and streams
Dreaming those wondrous boyhood dreams,
Of conquering worlds - as yet unknown
In that far off day when he is grown,
To manhood stature with noble goal
Imbued with nature's gentle soul.
In the cool of evening or midday sun
Knowing that all of life is one -
Knowing with all its strife and noise
The world was made for little boys.
(poem by Rea Williams)

The weather this week has been so wonderful, we have thoroughly enjoyed being outside. Aunt Car and Lainey came over the other day and our backyard seemed to be 10 degrees warmer than any other location. So we went to the Dollar Tree and came back with an arsenal of plastic water guns to help keep us all cool. We have never had much luck with water guns, they never have lasted longer than one play session, but to our surprise these Dollar Tree guns were awesome! So we watched the kids play, shooting everything and everyone that came into the view of the ends of their guns. We loved it, and I think Norie did too. But soon the natives began to grow restless as their little attention spans will only let them play with one thing for so long so we packed them up and drove up to our favorite spot. We love to go to Falls Park just a few minutes from the house, we forget where we, the time, and all of our worries!
Adam and Lainey had a ball as did Mom and Car. And I think the resident ducks enjoyed our visit as well.
