~4 Months~
Our little bruiser is growing and developing quite nicely. He is now 16lbs (74%) and 25.1 in (59%) He is a compact little guy and we are hoping he will stretch out here in the next couple of months. It is great that we had another boy for so many reasons. One of them being that Jace could wear all of Adam's old clothes. Aww, or so I thought. Jace is a season behind what Adam was at this age/weight so I have found myself A. putting some rather large articles of clothing on him and B. SHOPPING! Dad likes A, I am too OCD to go with that. The clothes have to fit.
Jace is very into his people right now. Right now those people are of course Mom and Dad, Adam, Grammy and Laine (we've been around her tons!) However, he is not picky about who holds him, who he will talk to (much like Dad and Adam), and he is not stingy on the cuddles and smiles. He is known to smile so hard he will laugh out loud, and THAT is hilarious. He is ticklish and when we are tickling him repeatedly he will get all hunched up in anticipation, even before we get to him. He LOVES to sit up. He does not like to be flat for any reason, including sleep. I believe there are 2 distince reasons for this. 1. Reflux. Jacer seems to have the stomach of an 80 year old man. He is now on his third reflux medication, Prevacid, and seems to be on the up and up. The 2nd reason I believe he likes to be sitting up is because he is so NOSY! Ok, we'll say curious. It is extremely difficult to feed this one as he is comstantly looking about the room and or talking! Super cute though!
Jace is now grabbing and holding onto anything in his reach. He has several rattles he likes and Mom's hair and necklace are always fun to pull on and eat. Which reminds me, he is getting his first tooth. He seems to be taking after Adam in that he is teething early. There is a small white area on his lower gums. Honestly, I can't wait for that sucker to pop through becuase it looks like it hurts! He got 2 shots this time and took them like a champ. Dad went with us to this visit as it was also Big Brothers 2.5 year visit. So Dad got to experience the shots as Mom has had to witness it EVERY time.
All in all we are all just trying to get through each day. We are still learning how to be parents to a 2 year old and now trying to remember what it was like to parent a 4 month old baby. Both boys are amazing little beings and a joy to everyone they come into contact with. It amazes me how anyone could not acknowledge them as they are the ones missing out, not the boys. Adam and Jace have made our lives that much more excting and we thank God everyday for them both!
