Cory came to visit! We decided we hadn't seen him since June of 2010 which means this was his first time meeting Big J! They hit is off quite well as you can see. We are so happy he come here first on his 2 weeks home from Alaska! The weekend went too fast and we are already counting the days until he comes back in December! It was so fun to see all of his pictures from all of his adventures out West, many of them belong in a book!
We all woke up early Sunday, had breakfast and headed to the pumpkin patch. Adam was a little bummed as we had wanted to take him on the pumpkin train up North but have been and will be busy every Saturday this month. He was none too happy and we promised that the first Saturday we are free we will spend the whole day doing whatever he chose. We had fun at the patch even though Big Boy came down with a mad fever really really fast. I am actually happy we didn't make it to the train and were quite a bit closer to home! Sunday night was spent getting up and down for more meds, cold clothes, and even a cold bath. By Monday Adam was really just wanting to lay around so Dad and Cory went to golf while Mom and the boys relaxed for the day.
Adam really wanted to have fun at the pumpkin patch. He started out strong, but it was evident that he wasn't feeling 100%. He began to fade almost as soon as we got there. He managed to enjoy himself as much as he could.
Jacer on the other hand had a ball. He is really into peek-a-boo right now, and as you can see he will use anything to hide his face. He played all the way out to the corn maze.
Adam shot the corn canon with Dad a few times. He was good at this point, probably because he didn't have to move!
He mustered up some energy to run and jump in the straw pile. He wasn't amused at the little kid throwing straw at him. Big Momma had to intervene. I had a few words with the kid as well as his(or her we don't know) parents. I can't stand kids or parents that think it's OK to do whatever they want whenever they want. Not gonna happen with my kid!
On our way into the corn maze! We really think that had he been 100% that day Adam would have LOVED the corn maze. Since he wasn't he was mostly concerned with getting out of it!
Cory was all about the kids and spending time with them. He constantly had a child on his shoulders, his hip, or pushing/pulling one. They loved having him here and Adam was extremely bummed when we had to say goodbye.
Dad kept hiding in the corn, our generally funny and trick-loving boy was having no part of the fun. When we finally ran into a map, we exited as soon as we could.
Unlike Adam did his first time at the pumpkin patch, Jace really didn't want to get down and explore. I know Adam would have been 3 months older, but Jace was having no part of the actual pumpkin part. Maybe because he is still in that "hold me" stage, but he wouldn't even stand up on his own 2 feet!
Cheers to good friends! Ones that you can pick up and call out of the blue not having talked for weeks or months and pick up right where you left off. Ones that love your kids like they were their own. Ones that are always there for you, no matter what you do or what you say....
Love you Cory!
