A Little Bit Of MY Life: Royalty

Homecoming last weekend was one of the funnest since we have left TLHS 11 and 12 years ago. We will always love to come back and see the old field, sit in the stands, and eat a pork burger or two. And when the day comes that our boys run out onto the field in their pads and helmets we will feel great pride. Even though that is many many years away we felt that pride last Friday when our Niece Alyssa was crowned Homecoming Queen. This is an amazing kid. So intelligent, talented, athletic, and quite possibly one of the sweetest I have ever met. She is a class act, the real deal. For she enjoyed her moment and then she took from her bouquet of flowers a rose for each of the other girls. Now. Really, how many of us ladies would REALLY do that? REALLY? So the crowning of the queen was a great ending to our festive night. And a wonderful taste of the pride we will someday feel.

Congratulations Miss Alyssa, may you always feel like the queen you are!

The Heplers were in town as well! They came up to visit and celebrate Bigg Time's 3rd birthday! Adam and Lainey wore their war paint with pride and cheered EVERYONE on as the homecoming parade progressed down town.

Jace was really into the whole scene until the fire trucks blared right in front of him. He didn't make a peep, but as you can see he was none too happy! Adam is always into ANYTHING with a horn, whistle, or siren so he was all sorts of amped up when the emergency vehicles made their way down Main Street.

YAY! This is now our homecoming tradition. A picture of Brock and I on what used to be one of our favorite nights of the school year! We had so much fun in "the olden days" I can't wait for my boys to be able to experience the excitement of the entire week leading up to the homecoming game. I love to see my hubby still so into it as he used to be and the sparkle in his eye when he's looking out at the field. I cherish these photos of us two as adults. It's pretty cool to look back at almost 15 years of pictures like this. Oh how we've grown, in ALL aspects of the word. HA!

Adam and Laine were so excited for Alyssa they made these signs. Laine's was done completely with her own hand. Bubba would only paint if I guided his hand, which would have been so much easier and neater if we were going the same way! But they turned out great and Alyssa loved them!

We took Uncle Shaw and Aunt Miss out to the Greats' house for pizza before the game. They got to visit with the Heplers and we all got to sit around the bar and visit with GG and GGPa. They love to have everyone around and always make sure we are having a great time! Adam is in 7th Heaven there, and even more so with these 2 ladies holding him!

Michelle captured this moment between 3 amazing brothers deep in convo about the game no doubt! These boys share many things in common, but the love of football may be one of the greatest! So fun to see them together, although in true Haselby fashion, it gets pretty loud!
