Baby Haselby Is A Boy!

~Jace Brody Haselby~

We are so excited to announce that Baby Haselby is a boy!
We went for our ultrasound last Thursday to see the baby's progress and learn the sex. The ultrasound tech put the probe on my belly and didn't even get a chance to tell us the news...Mama saw what we were looking for right away. I announced it to the room, which included the tech and myself as well as Dad and Big Brother. She seemed a little put off by the fact that I spilled the beans, and Dad was grinning from ear to ear! Everything looks great, he is developing at the right pace and is measuring a week ahead just like big brother. We gained 0 pounds last month although things look rounder than they did last month!

Baby is covering his face...he moved the WHOLE time!

He is just sitting there with his hand on his knee. Must be thinking about something!

When we were talking about names before we knew the sex of the baby Jace was on the list, although Brocky was not so sure about it. While visiting Shane and Michelle this past week she asked what names we were thinking, I mentioned the ones we were most recently discussing. The conversation turned eery as Michelle began to tell me of a letter that our Mother-In-Law had written her while she was pregnant with her first baby, Alyssa. The interesting part of the letter for us was that Linda told Michelle of 2 boy names that she really liked. One of those names was JACE.
Michelle took the letter and suggestions to heart and was whole-heartedly going to use both names if they had a boy. Fortunately for Brock and I, they had all girls, and even more fortunate Shane and Michelle shared that letter with us.
Obviously it was the sign we were needing to make that decision and so Jace it is. We will hold the other name close to us in case we have another boy!
The name Brody was also chosen by Grandma Linda as it is Brock's brother Shaw's middle name.
In essence, Linda named Jace Brody for us a very long time ago without even knowing.
Thanks so much Shane and Michelle for sharing such wonderful piece of Linda with us. We love you both so much!
