A New Tradition

When the grandkids were born, Grammy had many fun things that she wanted to do with them. Now that they are getting older, they are able to start checking things off that list. One from the top of that list is baking Christmas cookies. The kids LOVED this as Grammy is very patient and soft spoken with them. They got dirty, the kitchen got dirty, and I believe, the dog got dirty! They used many of Grandma Linda's cookie cutters, although in the grand scheme, not many as she had a million and 1! I think part of the fun was going through all of them together. Brock showed us all some of his favorites and some memories to go with them.
While the cookies were baking, Lainey decided to play piano for us. This did not end up as a solo, monkey see monkey do. Adam wanted to help. Aunt Car and myself have pictures in much the same positions. Her playing and me listening, usually eating something like my child!
It is amazing to me that so many things that we enjoyed as children, our children find amusing. Brock and I love to see Adam experience new things: sights, sounds, tastes. And are really trying hard to introduce things that we enjoy so that we may share them as a family. We thank many from our families for helping us. We have made new traditions and continue to do so, and they are as much a part of that as we are.
