You read it right...Jacer Brody is 15 months old! He has grown by leaps and bounds and is not even close to the little man crawling around my kitchen a few months ago.
Jace weighed in at 26 lbs 7 oz (91%) and was a whole 3 in taller than 3 months ago at 33 in (97%). He is physically growing quite nicely and intellectually he amazes us everyday.
Our sweet boy has the sweetest little voice. Although so very sweet sounding, Jace has a bad habit of screaming this high-pitched scream when he doesn't get what he wants. His vocabulary is growing by the day as he says several words quite clearly, and others perhaps not so clearly.
He says:
daddy, mama, ball, go, cookie, juice, cat, book, bye-bye, pee-pee, NO, nana
Jace also has a language all his own that we can kind of decipher, like most parents with their own children. JB loves to sing and can be heard singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" He tries so very hard to say the words, but absolutely has the tune down. He also will sing along with "Old MacDonald" His part is the EI EI O, he will also say the animal noises. Like big brother, he got most of those down quite early. Onto body parts. We have been working on these since he was tiny. He knows eyes, nose, ears, hair, belly, and pee-pee. The thing that is making it difficult for us to teach him these parts is that Adam shows him the WRONG parts! And since he will copy anything Adam says or does, he thinks Adam is right and we are wrong. Lovely.
Jace uses a fork and a spoon very well, sometimes better than I do, although he hates to use a plate. So sitting at the table in a booster is a work in progress. He does however like to use a regular cup or one with a straw so you can't win them all, huh.
Jace LOVES to read and we are not able to sit very long before he has gone to get a book or 2 or 5 and is sitting on our laps saying "book" over and over again. He also likes to color and can scribble with the best of them. So far we have kept the colors on paper, but it is only a matter of time before he expands and colors to something he is not supposed to. Coloring is a fun family activity, that is until Jace starts getting hungry and eats the crayons. Like I said, can't win them all!
I know I've said it before, but we are so blessed to have Jace here with us. He and Adam are really fun to watch together and it can only get better with another one on the way.
